He sent his friends – a British and an American – NMT English test for 2024 and asked to go through it in 20 minutes.
Both native speakers, with higher education and English teaching experience in China. But even in these conditions, the American manages to score only 157 points, and the British – 153.
“They read the text and are clear to them as a white day. But they can’t answer the questions about this text. Because the questions are created to confuse as much as possible, and not to prove language knowledge,” the teacher said.
According to him, they both have free knowledge, which most students try. However, the NMT’s activities, in his opinion, do not match the true language capabilities.
