President Vladimir Zelensky called the “unpleasant fact” in the Russian -State Secretary of Russia’s Day Marco Rubio. The head of the state said this during the talks with journalists on June 13.
“In any case, Russia’s greeting on Russia’s Day from the United States is an unpleasant fact for me. I will not hide. This is Russia’s Independence Day,” said the head of the state.
Zelensky emphasized that Russia’s actions are directly aimed at removing the Ukraine of its sovereignty. “They want to take our independence. This war, specifically for the freedom of Ukraine. The Russian war against Ukraine,” the President emphasized.
Zelensky made it clear that such a greeting to the part of the partners who supported Ukraine in the struggle for their freedom brings him negative emotions.
“Of course, I don’t see a big positive when people want to take freedom from Ukraine, and our country partner – the United States – greet them one day,” the state leader added.
Remember, on June 12, state secretary Marco Rubio greeted the Russians on Russian day. In Moscow, the greeting from Rubio was “greatly appreciated”. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called a greeting from the United States “very positive news.”
