In the capital of Ukraine, a meeting was held between the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Smigal, the Minister of the Interior of Germany Nancy Feser, and the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Germany Hubertus Gail today, July 25. It was reported on the government portal website.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky and Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych.
“We appreciate the contribution of Germany in ensuring the unity of the European Union in support of Ukraine and measures to counter the full aggression of Russia. I also want to thank the German side for the fact that, following the results of the G7 summit , German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the convening of an international expert conference on the recovery of Ukraine and the creation of an appropriate recovery plan within the framework of the German G7 Presidency,” thanked the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The head of the Ukrainian Government emphasized that Ukraine is looking forward to the meeting that will be held this fall in Germany. Also, the European also expressed its willingness to join the event.
In addition, Germany has allocated 1 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine.
“This has been a very important financial support for the fulfillment of our social obligations and the stabilization of the macro-financial situation. We will be grateful for the support of the decision to provide our state with macro-financial assistance in the amount of 8 billion euros from the European Commission. The unity of the European Union is decisive for the success of Ukraine,” stressed the Head of Government.
The parties also discussed the development of projects in the social sphere. As the Prime Minister emphasized, Ukraine pays great attention to the digitalization of the state, therefore Denys Shmihal invited Germany to join the implementation of such projects.
During the meeting, the issue of recognizing Ukrainian documents in the Diya application was raised, as many Ukrainians left the country because of the war, with only electronic documents with them.
Where Hubertus Gail assured that their state cares for the people of Ukraine and will continue to provide them with all possible support. In addition, he added that Germany will contribute to the development of the labor market in Ukraine.
Also, Germany donated cars and generators to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
