Montenegro will join the EU mission to train the Ukrainian military. 49 out of 81 representatives voted for this decision.
Montenegro’s Parliament decided to send Montenegrin Army military personnel to the European Union mission for providing military assistance to Ukraine. Radio Slobodna Evropa reported this on Thursday, June 12.
The draft decision was submitted for the Parliamente’s consideration nine months ago, but it came to adoption today. 49 out of 81 representatives voted for the decision.
Defense minister Dragan Krapovich, who commented on the decision, emphasized that “no questions” about the expansion of Montenegrin soldiers on this mission in Ukraine.
“I want the crystal to be clear. I will never support something like this. All the activities of this mission are carried out in the EU, in Poland and Germany,” he said.
The European Union’s mission was one of two so -called “Ukrainian Missions” after the Russian invasion in February 2022, where Montenegro should participate. The second mission was organized by NATO. On February 7, the Council on Defense and Security adopted a draft decision to join the Montenegro Army on NATO’s activities to provide security and preparation for Ukraine.
Remember that New Zealand will continue to train Ukrainian soldiers and provide military support in Ukraine until December 2026.
