The success of nationalist Karol Navrotsky in the presidential election puts the prime minister of Poland and his coalition in a difficult situation.
The Pro-European Coalition Government of Poland on Wednesday received a vote of confidence, and prime minister Donald Tusk hoped that this result would give his cabinet a minister of a new impulse after he was shaken by the President’s election failure.
Confrontation with the newly elected president
Remember that Tuska -in -Mars Rafal Tshaskovsky was defeated by nationalist Karol Navrotsky in the second turn of the presidential election on June 1.
According to Poland media, Tuska’s broad coalition has 242 votes at 460-sear, which means he had every opportunity to vote for trust on Wednesday.
“I need this vote, because we see … I think this government cannot cope, dusk can be removed, and in these conditions it is impossible to work,” Tusk explained the decision to vote.
However, he added that he still had to restore voters’ confidence: “We need to do more.”
In the debate prior to voting, Polish Prime Minister called the increase in defense costs and reduced the release of visas to migrants with major achievements from the moment he came to power in December 2023, replacing the Nationalist Party Law and justice (PIS), which supports Navrotsky.
Tusk also said his government will continue to eradicate the judicial reform introduced by the PIS Party, which, according to the European Union, is disturbing the independence of the courts. The President of Poland, who resigned, Andrzej Duda, who was also an allies of the PI, still blocked the government’s attempts to cancel the judicial reform.
Poland analysts say that many Polish voters have failed the government’s inability to fulfill promises, especially to free abortion laws, reform the judicial system and increase the threshold where the poles begin to pay.
In an interview with Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, the newly elected President Navrotsky said he would sign the law to increase the tax benefit threshold and also submit such a bill if the government was not.
Obviously, criticizing the non -compliance with the government of the 100 promises given in the first 100 days of his work, Navrotsky said he would “fulfill them for Donald Tusk. Is this not a sign of reconciliation?”
New impulse
The government still expects Tshaskovsky’s success in the president’s election, which will provide strict freedom for the full implementation of his ideas. Faced with questions about his leadership, even from the side of the average loyal media, Poland’s Prime Minister showed a vote of confidence as an opportunity to restore his government.
“I want you to know that for the whole … This coalition is a day of a new impulse, and I’m sure you can cope with this task,” he told his comrades on the eve of voting on Wednesday.

Tusk said that soon, perhaps in July, government permissions will take place. Meanwhile, members of the administration said their coalition agreement also needed to change, and this process could lead to the conflict.
“Sticks in the wheels” from the pis
Opponents of Tusk – Pis Party, such as writing Poland publications, enjoy the current situation.
Party leader Yaroslav Kachinsky suggested immediately to create a “technical government” from experts to “restore calm in the country.”
Former Minister of Justice Zbignnev Zebro, the “architect” of judicial reform, which the government’s government seeks to change, is more straightforward.
“The President’s lost election was Donald Tusk’s conclusion. His fate was decided,” he told the broadcasters.
