Russia considers the way out of the moratorium in the placement of medium missiles and smaller ranges, as it does not see “cardinal changes in US plans.”
Russia can leave a moratorium on terrestrial and lower -range terrestrial missiles (RSMD). The corresponding purpose was revealed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov in an interview with Tass, published on June 9.
According to Ryabkov, the moratorium “approached the logical conclusion”, because Moscow, they said, “was forced to respond to the emergence of a new and very sensitive missile threat.”
He said Russia did not see “cardinal changes in US plans for further terrestrial placement and lower -gers of terrestrial missiles in different regions of the world” and suggest that such activities will only increase.
“The fact is that the restraint that Russia has shown in conditions after the InfMD gap is not appreciated by the United States and its allies and has not achieved the reward,” Ryabkov complained.
It should be noted that the United States believes that Russia violated the removal of medium and smaller missiles (INFMD), which ended in 1987. In particular, we are talking about a rocket 9M729 complexes Iskanderwith a range of more than 500 km, which allows it to hit the goals in Western Europe when removing the Kaliningrad region.
Moscow denied a contract violation. In 2019, Russia offered the United States and NATO a moratorium on the placement of such missiles in Europe.
Remember, while the world’s attention is concentrated in the war in Ukraine, Russia actively increases the existence of the military by Finland’s borders and Baltic countries. According to Western Intelligence, the Kremlin is preparing for a possible military confrontation with NATO.
In particular, Lithuania enhances the safety of the Suvalka corridor – a sparsely wooden plain population with a diameter of 100 kilometers, which relates to Poland and Bounds with Belarus, a Russian ally, and Russian Kaliningrad.
Pentagon continues the development of the medium -hang ballistic missile
