In Washington, they completed tariffs of 500% against selling countries with Russia will hit America itself.
The new US penalty bill against Russia is likely to change dramatically before it is accepted. On Saturday, June 7, Politico reported.
It is noted that the introduction of a 500 percent duty to import goods from countries-buying Russian energy bearers primarily means a space with the largest economy in the world-China, India and a number of European countries.
One of the starters of the bill, Senator Lindsay Graham, clearly admitted this earlier this week has suggested to make an exception for countries providing assistance to Ukraine. This exception in particular will save the European Union from 500 percent duty, which is still dependent on gas from Russia.
But even though Europe was not included, the bill still seemed to doubt, Politico wrote. First, the United States itself is still buying Russian Uranus, which is also included in the Graham Bill. Second, the introduction of a huge fee for imports from China and India can hit America’s domestic market, which largely depends on imports from these countries.
“The duties of 500% for importing goods made in China will lead to a sharp increase in prices, violates supply chains and can lead to increased unemployment in the United States to the level of refinement,” Politico wrote.
Political analyst Matt Zweig noted that Graham’s bill was likely to undergo significant changes during the time of congressional or even during the preliminary consultation with the Trump administration. And all of this will take a lot of time.
“With the law of penalties, you usually interact with iterative processes where you will need to go through every corner,” Zweig said.
At the same time, the bill has a clear and relatively strong bicameral support in the United States, indicating the desire of American political establishment to punish Russia.
“Congress can be pressed into the executive branch of authorities to act. In the Senate there is a feeling needed or worth introducing more sanctions against Russia,” said Adam Smith, partner of the Gibson Dunn Law Firm.
Earlier, Democrat Richard Blmental and Republican Lindsay Graham called for sanctions against Russia after negotiating the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, held in Turkey on May 16, had no significant development. By the end of May, Graham said the bill would already have 82 votes in the US Senate, and, if adopted, would be Russia on a trade island.
