The adopted document actually called on the country’s government to prevent sanctions against Russia from international organizations.
On June 5, Slovakia’s parliament adopted a resolution, calling on the government not to support new sanctions against Russia. The opposition ignored the vote. Noviny reported this on Thursday, June 5.
The corresponding document was started by the Slovak National Party (SNS).
The resolution states that penalties and trading restrictions against Russia are said to negatively affect the Slovak economy – in particular, increase energy prices, violates equipment and reduce Slovak industry competition.
The document for members of the Slovak government called on international organizations to oppose new penalties and focus on maintaining the energy market, reducing price change and protecting national interests.
51 out of 76 representatives voted for resolution representatives-all SNS representatives, mostly from the Smer-SD party, some HLAS-SD members and a number of non-confractional.
Only Hlas-SD representative Jan Ferenchak. Another 23 representatives avoided, while opposition forces ignored the vote.
Earlier, Slovakia promised to participate in blocking sanctions against the Russian Federation.
