Kim Jong -un and Sergey Shoigu discussed the development of the situation around the “crisis in Ukrainian” and reached a “position of consent”.
North Korea has promised Russia’s “unconditional support”, in particular, in solving the “Ukrainian issue”. DPRK leader Kim Jong -un said at a meeting with Security Council Secretary of Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu reported by Korea’s Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) on Thursday, June 5.
Thus, Shoigu thanked Kim for the “heroism” of the soldier he sent to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine. And Kim, in turn, has promised to continue to support Russia.
During negotiations, “there was a widespread exchange of views and views of the two countries’ leadership of the development of the situation around the Ukrainian crisis and regarding the global and regional situation.”
It was noted that the conversation had “confirmed the agreement of both parties’ positions.”
“Kim Jong -un has confirmed that the DPRK government is more absolutely maintaining Russia’s position and its foreign policy in all the most important international political issues, including the question in Ukrainian,” the statement said.
The day before it was known that Shoigu went to the DPRK a second time in the last three months. The topics of negotiations with Pyongyang are the implementation of several clauses of the agreement with a comprehensive strategic collaboration between the Russian Federation and DPRK, “maintaining the historic memory of Korean fighters who fought against Ukraine’s armed forces in the Kursk region”, as well as “actual situation in Ukrainian Front.”
As you know, the deepening of cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyan began after Putin’s visit to the DPRK in the Tag -War of 2024. The dictators then signed an agreement with a comprehensive strategic collaboration, which included granting military support in the case of external aggression.
North Korea later gave Russia 11,000 soldiers to participate in hostilities in the Kursk region. According to South Korea’s intelligence, approximately 4,000 North Korean troops were killed or injured.
