Ukraine has one of the highest numbers of women in the army among NATO member countries.
More than 50,000 women serve in the ranks of the Ukrainian army, more than 5,000 of them are at the front. Such data was announced by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Malyar during the Second International Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in Kyiv.
“Besides 38,000 female military personnel, we still have civilian women working in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, in general, we have more than 50,000 women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today we have more than five thousand women in front lines,” he said.
According to Malyar, today Ukraine has one of the highest number of women in the army among NATO member countries.
As reported, two groups of volunteers are engaged in the development of women’s military uniforms for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
