France is preparing for a hot weather, which introduces new labor standards to protect workers from extreme temperatures.
On July 1, 2025, new manners of the labor law begin, employers are obliged to take steps to protect employees from excessive heat. This was reported by the official messenger of the country government.
The new policies introduced by the Ministry of Labor of France are aimed at increasing employers’ responsibility during work during high temperatures. They associate not only employees and employers, but also for project -owned, labor protection coordinators, self -employed people, as well as performing work on construction sites, in the forest or at height.
In particular, employers will be required:

Adapt the work schedule by changing it in accordance with temperature conditions;

suspend the performance of hardworking work at the hottest times of the day;

Remorify Break to reduce loading with employees.
It is also provided for organizing jobs to reduce the effects of sunlight and heat accumulation – by dimming, ventilation or using diffusers.
In addition, the command guarantees the ordered access to drinking water for all employees outside or conducting work in heat conditions, and also provides for the provision of appropriate equipment as needed.
New requirements will begin working throughout the country from July 1, 2025.
The Spanish government approved the reduction in working week from 40 to 37.5 hours without reducing salaries.
