President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Turkish head of Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked on the phone.
The main topics of the conversation were peaceful initiatives, supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine and preparing for future negotiations in Istanbul. In particular, leaders discussed the possibility of organizing a four -sided meeting at the level of leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United States. Zelensky reported this on May 30 on social networks.
In addition, they talked about a possible new meeting in Istanbul. Zelensky and Erdogan agreed that such a meeting should be significant, and not symbolic. The Ukrainian president emphasized that the next step should be a ceasefire as a necessary condition for promotion in the world.
The participation of Turkey at the top of Ukraine-Yugo-East Europe was discussed separately. Zelensky thanked for the initiatives that could bring real results on the way to the world.
We recall that the Russian delegation, headed by Vladimir Medinsky, is ready to submit to Ukraine a memorandum of the ceasefire in the second round of restored direct negotiations in Istanbul next Monday, June 2.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy President is convinced that Russia does everything at a meeting in Turkey to be unsuccessful.
