We are approaching the turning point in the war, ”says Fidan. – As noted at the beginning of the negotiations that took place in Istanbul on May 16, we have two ways: either we will close our eyes to the continuation of this war, or we will reach a strong world this year.
These negotiations added a new dimension to the instruments of the diplomatic decision, ”he added.
According to him, Türkiye advocates to achieve a fair and long world, considers the exchange of prisoners after a meeting in Istanbul as a sign that negotiations can lead to specific results.
We fully support the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine. The main topic of our visit is the cessation of destruction and the human tragedy caused by the war, ”said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
According to him, Russia announced its readiness to continue negotiations on June 2, and now in Kyiv there is an exchange of views for the next meeting.
We believe that the next round is possible on the basis of a fundamental decision made by the parties in Istanbul … We are ready for the following meetings … We want the war between Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible and, finally, end as soon as possible, ”he said.
During the press conference, Fidan also indicated the expectation of a new round of negotiations in Istanbul.
We hope that technical work will be mainly completed. At the next stage, we must achieve very intense progress in order to hold an information meeting and, in particular, agree on a long ceasefire.
He also took the opportunity to meet with the leaders of Ukraine, the United States, Turkey and Russia in negotiations in Istanbul.
At the beginning of this week, Fidan was a two -day visit to Moscow. In particular, on May 26, he met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The meeting lasted about an hour, and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also participated in it.
