In Kyiv, American director Christopher Walters, who came to Ukraine to document the war, was wounded as a result of the fall of the balcony in the Podilski area.
Walters reported this on his Instagram page, publishing a suitable video.
He said that when the balcony collapsed, he fell to the ground with concrete. The event occurred right in front of the entrance to the residential building.
In the center of the capital, balconies are so falling, ”he said. – The balcony under which people go to the entrance. At the time when rockets and drones fly, we are injured by balconies from someone’s irresponsibility!

Subsequently, details of the incident on the official portal of Kyiv were reported. It is noted that:
- The fall of the balcony from the second floor occurred on Sunday, May 25. Then the territory was closed, the fragments were already removed;
- The injured citizen did not call an ambulance or police;
- A three -hundred building in which the incident belongs to an old residential building built in 1905, that is, this is more than 120 years;
- KP “Housing Fund Management Company in the Kyiv Podilskyi area” is preparing to conduct tools and determine further repair work.
Employees of management companies do not have direct access to the balconies of apartments in residential buildings. The inspection on the balcony is carried out on the basis of the use of owners of residential premises that should provide access to the premises, the report said.
The city government calls for apartments in residential buildings of the old building in case of signs of possible destruction of balconies, immediately contact the RDA management to check and solve the problem of further operation, and also offers to use available reconstruction programs.
