DBR completed the investigation of the commander of the 211st Brigade of the Armed Forces, which did not respond to the facts of bullying and torture of it.
This was announced today, May 29, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
DBR notes that, according to the investigation, from February to July 2024, the commander actually knew about the facts of torture and poor treatment of military personnel with a subordinate officer, but did not take measures of answer:
- It was found that the senior lieutenant was systematically beaten, humiliated and tortured. It is known that he is the son of the chief of staff of the same brigade, which is a close friend of the brigade commander. This could affect the commander’s decision to shut up crimes, and not transfer information to law enforcement agencies;
- As a result, instead of protecting the rights of his subordinates, the commander actually became a member of criminal inaction, which allowed to continue torture and abuse.
