The delicacy’s name change is temporary; furthermore, any geographical reference will be removed from its name.

German supermarket chain Edeka has renamed Moscauer Art ice cream, sold on store shelves under its own brand name Gut und Günstig, to Kiever Art. This was reported by the newspaper Rheinische Post.

“We are very concerned about what is happening in Ukraine. It is important for us to continue to express our solidarity, and we believe that small gestures can also show this,” Edeka said.

The name Kiever Art on ice cream is temporary. The network even plans to remove geo-referencing from the name of the ice cream.

In the future, ice cream will be called Ice Snack Sandwich, that is, ice cream sandwich.

Russia started the war against Ukraine on February 24th. Representatives of 141 of the 193 countries in the UN General Assembly condemned the actions of the Russian authorities, demanded a cease-fire and the withdrawal of troops. Kyiv imposed martial law and cut diplomatic ties with Moscow.
