Belarus will shift the main maneuvers of the West use deeper into the country to “reduce tightening.”
Belarus decided to change the parameters of joint military training along with Russia West 2025 and move major maneuvers from the western borders – deep in the country. It was said by defense minister Viktor Krenin, the Belarusian media reported.
According to him, military exercises are “not directed against anyone”, and the transfer of major maneuvers deep into the Belarus territory from the western boundaries “indicates the readiness for communicating and reducing the regional intensity.”
“We decided to reduce the parameters of the Western doctrine and the transfer of its major maneuvers deep into the territory of the Republic of Belarus from the western boundaries,” Khrenin said.
According to him, this decision by Belarus “is again not only in a word, but also confirms his preparation for dialogue, compromise and a reduction in fatigue.”
As you know, Russia and Belarus plan in September 2025 to conduct a large -scale joint military training in the West. The official goals of the latter are the development of joint defensive and offensive actions, improve the interaction of armed forces, as well as evaluating the preparedness of military personnel for various security scenarios.
More than 13 thousand people will participate in the exercises. The joint strategic training of Russia and Belarus is held every two years. They always cause fears of officials of the Russian and Belarus border countries about possible incidents.
According to the GPSU, in Belarus there is currently about 2,000 Russian military, involved in ensuring and logistics.
