The United States remains firmly focused on the Republic of Korea, emphasized by the Pentagon representative.
The US Defense Department has denied media information that Washington wants to reduce the number of American troops in South Korea. This was announced by the Pentagon Sean Parnell representative on Social Network X.
“Everyone who embraces Pentagon’s activities knows that we always evaluate the presence of troops. However, the United States remains firmly focused on the Republic of Korea. Our alliance is immovable,” he wrote.
Parnell emphasized that the US Department of Defense Department reduced the number of American troops in South Korea is not true.
Now in South Korea there are about 28,500 American troops.
Remember, on May 23, the Wall Street Journal, citing resources, reported that the United States considered the possibility of recovering about 4,500 military personnel from South Korea to move to other Indo-Pacific regional units, especially, to the island of Guam.
By the end of this year, the United States will begin negotiations with European allies about the reduction in its number of troops in Europe.
