European Parliament emphasized that funding to the corrupt regime that opens up Europe’s values is unacceptable.
A number of European Parliament representatives have sent an appeal to the EU leadership to freeze all financing for Hungary due to further restrictions of independence, which disrupt democracy and non-compliance with the law and EU values, LRT reports.
It was noted that because of the Hungarian government, under the leadership of Viktor Orban, the EU conflicts continued to rise, which was why the billions of euros were already frozen. The basis is the treatment of asylum and suspicion of corruption.
In one letter, representatives noted that Hungary not only striving for improvements – there is a “further stressful regression.” In particular, those who set the recent law in the prohibition of LGBTK reforms in Budapest and reforms aimed at destroying the freedom of the vehicles.
“Continue to supply the corrupt regime that opens European values is unacceptable. Therefore, we encourage to immediately stop any Hungary financing, using all the available legal instruments,” the parliamentary appeal said.
It is noted that the letter was initiated by the green part. However, representatives of other fractions of the European Parliament, especially the right-centric European party, the Center Party, “Renew Europe”, as well as the social-democratic SDP, have also made signatures beneath it. In total, 26 representatives signed the letter.
Keep in mind that next week the EU Council will discuss Hungary’s voting rights due to a serious violation of values.
