The minister added that the dialogue is currently ongoing regarding the possibility of incorporating the Ukrainian military potential into the European defense system.
“I’m sure such a decision has a number of strategic benefits for Ukraine, in particular, maintaining financial stability in 2026 and beyond, and for the EU, to protect itself from Russia’s potential aggression. After all, the Ukrainian army has all the experience needed for it,” Marchko said.

“The costs of ensuring Ukrainian armed forces for European security will take in a small part of the EU GDP. It can be distributed between countries ready to join the initiative and include the calculation of defense expenditure in accordance with the obligations of these countries in NATO,” the minister said.
Marchenko noted that the military risks, Europe is looking for ways to strengthen defense, including an increase in the number of military personnel.

Marchenko emphasized that Ukraine’s support is an investment in European stability, and the strengthening of defense capabilities is not a political choice, but an urgent need.
“You have to act now to be strong in the future. We continue systematically with partners to ensure a fair and stable peace for Ukraine,” the minister said.
