The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz discussed the position of US president Donald Trump and European leaders about ways to achieve peace. The Ukrainian leader reported this on TelGram on Tuesday, May 20.

“An important conversation with the Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. He is grateful for a strong and constructive position in Ukraine’s support. We have discussed our conversation with President Trump, as well as talking to European leaders today,” he wrote.

According to the results of the conversation, the President said we need to coordinate all of our contacts and steps as much as possible.

“It is very important to maintain unity between all partners and find solutions that can end this war in a fair world,” Zelensky emphasized.

According to him, the parties also discussed the restoration of Ukraine after the end of the war.

“We need to think about it now and have a clear plan that will help to draw the real world today and support later. We will work together to implement everything,” the President added.

Remember, on May 19, Trump held the phone talks with Putin and Zelensky. After that, the American leader said that Russia and Ukraine should immediately begin negotiating with the ceasefire and end of the war. Trump also mentioned that his conversation with Putin was “very good.”
