The European Union has decided to supply Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Radio Liberty). The block allocated 5.5 million euros from its budget to support media and central Asia. It was at a press conference on Tuesday, May 20, the European diplomacy leader, Kai Callas, said.
“Ministers have agreed to provide 5.5 million euros to finance radio freedom,” he said.
According to Kallas, the European Union “aims to ensure that radio freedom continues to work in the European countries, as well as the North Caucasus and Central Asia.
“This is short -term financing, now EU countries should be in agreement with long -term financing themselves,” he added.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) – Private, Independent International Information Organization, which programs – radio, internet, television and mobile communication – cover the weekly audience of nearly 50 million people in 23 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Republic of the Caucasus and Caucasus.
