In Istanbul (Turkey) on Friday, July 22, the signing of an agreement on the “grain corridor” is expected. On behalf of the Russian Federation, the document will be signed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, Interfax wrote.
“Yes, we can confirm that Defense Minister Shoigu went to Turkey, we can confirm that the signing is being prepared today, but let’s wait, don’t let’s go,” he said.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Istanbul for talks on resolving the grain issue. It is headed by the head of the department Alexander Kubrakov.
The signing of the agreement on the “grain corridor” should take place at 16:30. The ceremony will be attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General António Guterres.
Recall that the agreement on the “grain corridor” will indicate the obligations of the parties for the safe operation of export routes in the Black Sea.
The Office of the President assures that Ukraine will not agree to any easing of security for grain exports.
