Estonia will change the route of its ships to prevent such incidents in the future.
On Sunday night, Russian authorities were confined to an oil tank Green admireemerging from the Sillamae Estonian port and to Rotterdam. This was reported by ERR.
The vessel, walking under the Liberian flag, left the port on Saturday night and chose the agreed route through Russia’s territorial waters. This path for a long time has been used as a safer choice for large ships than direct motion through the shallow watery of the Estonian water area.
Russian security forces stopped at the tanker at midnight. He eventually arrived at the Sursari (Gogland) area, which, until Sunday morning, was anchored.
The ship brought shale oil, its final destination was the port of Rotterdam. The tanker owned is the Greek company Shipment of Aegean.
The Estonian Department of Transportation noted that this is the first of the incident, and to prevent such cases in the future, all vessels are now passing through Estonian territorial waters -although this route is more complex and less safe for large vessels.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna said Russia is acting in doubt. In his opinion, the incident was associated with the efforts of western countries to hinder the “shadow of the Armada” of the Russian Federation, which was involved in the bypass of the EU penalties.
According to him, approximately 50-60% of Russia’s oil were brought through the Gulf of Finland in such courts.
He added that despite the coordination of the route, the Russian Federation, obviously, wanted to show force. However, Estonia will react calmly.
Tsakhkna said the Estonian Foreign Ministry is not planning to call a temporary Russian lawyer. According to him, the incident had no use of force: the tanker fulfilled the order and did not fight.
It should be noted that Estonian authorities allowed a tanker from the Russian shadow fleet, which was confined to Naval forces on April 11, leaving the country’s territory.
Earlier it was reported that Estonia was detained on Friday morning by the Kalan Oil Tanker, a ship from Russia’s “Shadow Fleet”, which was engaged in exporting raw oil and oil products to third countries. It was later found that 40 violations were found on the ship.
