The Council of Coordinating Headquarters on Prisoner of War Issues held a meeting on May 18 to agree with a joint plan for exchange in the “1000 per 1000” format. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Ukraine Rustem Umm.
He recalled that according to the results of the negotiations with Istanbul, it was possible to reach an important agreement on the exchange of “1000 per 1000” prisoners.
“This is a difficult and sensitive process that requires a clear coordination of all state structures. That is why the Council of Coordinating Headquarters, the SBU, SZR, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ombudsman – now combined to adjust the joint plan of action and implement this Agreement soon,” Umrovo said.
He added that about the decisions based on the results of the meeting today, tomorrow there will be a report to the President.
