If a person falls under three of the four criteria, he will be included in the register of oligarchs, the head of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized.
An oligarch in Ukraine, in addition to Ukrainians, can also be recognized as a person who is a citizen of another state. This is what Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said on the air of the telethon on Thursday, July 21.
According to him, the status of an oligarch is determined by four criteria.
“It does not matter which country a person is a citizen of. He may not be a citizen of the country, but he can be recognized as an oligarch in our country if he operates in the territory of our country and has three of the four criteria determined by our legislator,” said Danilov.
The head of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized that according to the first criterion, 86 people were identified as oligarchs.
“The following three standards follow… As soon as we understand what the figure for the second standard will be, we will definitely inform the society,” he said.
At the same time, Danilov said that the authorities accept the decisions of some individuals to dispose of their property in order not to be included in the register of oligarchs.
“We are in favor of having people involved in business, we must treat them with great respect. But when monopolies – media, politics, business – are combined, these are unacceptable things,” the Secretary of the Council was emphasized.
Recall that on June 29, President Volodymyr Zelensky implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the register of oligarchs. As indicated, the list will include the full name, date and place of birth, identification data, passport details, etc., as well as the justification for identifying the person as an oligarch.
