The world leaders responded to Vladimir Putin’s proposal about negotiations in Istanbul.
The allies of Ukraine are convinced that first you need to introduce a complete ceasefire, and then conduct real negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. The German Chancellor Friedrich Merza wrote on the social network X expects Moscow to first agree with the cessation of fire, and then there will be real negotiations.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that “weapons say that there could be no negotiations.”
The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on the social network X that the world is waiting for a unanimous decision about an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
We recall that on the night of May 11, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that he was ready to restore direct negotiations without preliminary conditions that are planned to be held on May 15 in Istanbul. He also accused Ukraine of violating a ceasefire.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Türkiye is ready to promote the world, including in negotiations.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready for negotiations, but only after a complete and comprehensive ceasefire, which should begin on May 12th.
