The European Union positively assesses Turkey’s possible role as a mediator over negotiations at the end of the war in Ukraine.
The EU positively asses Turkey’s possible role as a mediator in negotiations with the completion of the Russian-Ukrainian War and the achievement of peace. This was said by the head of the European Union office representative in Turkey Thomas Hans Ossovski, Ukrinform report.
“Türkiye now suggests playing a role in any negotiations, which, as we also hope, will complete Russia’s criminal operation against Ukraine, so it is more than desired,” said Thomas Hans Ossovski.
He emphasized the positive accomplishments of Turkey as a mediator, especially about the “corridor corridor” agreements.
“We are grateful for the positive intermediary position that Türkiye has taken in recent years. Many things have been achieved. We have a Black Sea initiative, it worked,” said the diplomat.
He emphasized that Türkiye was an honest and strong guarantee of Montreus.
“The 1936 Convention prohibits military shipping on straits during the war. And Turkey guarantees it, which made a major contribution to the DE -Scalation of the Black Sea war. Because it did not allow Russian wars to continue its criminal activity against Ukraine in the Black Sea,” Thomas Hans Osovsky said.
Remember that the United States no longer plans to play the role of a mediator in the regulating of the Russian War against Ukraine. From now on, the initiative should go straight to Kyiv and Moscow. This was expressed by a US State Department of State Department of State Temmi Bruce during a briefing.
