Congressmen and senators condemned the Iran regime for the supply of Russian drones, which Moscow uses for attacks on Ukrainian civilian facilities.
The US Congress introduced the Iranian Dron-Kamikadze Shahed-136, which Russia attacks Ukraine. Its Ukrainian military has been delivered to the United States through Poland, reports the KYIV Post.
It was noted that the presentation took place with the participation of American lawmakers and representatives of the analytical organization “united against nuclear iran” (UNII), which monitors threats to Iran, including the military.
According to organizers, the Shahed-136 drone has become a symbol of the military threat that Iran is carrying western countries. “This is the real person of the Iran regime,” commented Jason Brodsky director Jason Brodsky.
The general director of the organization, the former US ambassador to the UN Mark volles called this drone “the most common terrorist weapon of mass defeat in the modern world.” For his part, speaker Mike Johnson emphasized that the use of such drones is changing the rules of war on the United States. He criticized Iran’s actions, accusing Tehran of supporting global conflicts, including the Russian war against Ukraine
The event was attended by Senator Ted Cruz, head of the House of Representative Committee on Foreign Affairs Brian Mast and Senator James Lenkford. They strongly condemned the Iran regime for cooperation with Russia, including the supply of drones used by Moscow for attacks on Ukrainian civilian and infrastructure facilities. American politicians also pledged that they would not allow Iran to receive nuclear weapons.
According to Ukrainian data, from August 2024 to March 2025, Russia has made more than 15 thousand attacks using the shahed-136 drone or their copies of Russia called “Gerani-2”. These figures are also confirmed by reports of the Washington Institute of Science and International Security.
