Given the three -day stop that Russia has declared, there is a “great opportunity” that will expand it up to 30 days, according to Frederick Mertz.
German believes Chancellor Friedrich Mertz that the stop in Ukraine is possible in the next two days. This was announced by Bild on Friday, May 9.
“I have a great hope that the stopping agreement in Ukraine will be reached this weekend,” Mertz said today in Brussels.
According to him, given the three -day stops announced by Russia, there is a “great opportunity” that it will be expanded for up to 30 days, and then “it is possible to start negotiations with a peaceful agreement.”
Mertz also said that “he wrote a joint Communique” along with France President Emmanuel Macron, Polish prime minister Donald Tupskoye and British prime minister Keit Senerier. This is “mainly identical to” US proposal.
“We hope that Russia’s side will accept it. The ball is exclusively in the Moscow field,” the Chancellor added.
The day before, the Kremlin said Russia’s additional steps at the end of the war in Ukraine seemed to depend on so -called three -day “Truce”. This was said by the assistant to Vladimir Putin Yuri Ushakov.
Remember that Russia does not plan to agree to the proposal of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about a 30-day Truce.
It was also reported that the US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Kellogo was called Putin an obstacle to the stop.
