On the morning of May 9, SBU reported that for the first time in the history of Ukraine, she put up an agent network of military intelligence of Hungary, which conducted espionage activities to the detriment of the Ukrainian state.
It was noted that the task of this cell was to collect information about the military protection of transcarpathy, the search for vulnerable places in the ground and the air defense of the region, as well as the study of socio-political views on local residents, including the scenarios of their behavior if the Hungarian troops entered the region of the region.
SBU was detained by two agents, including 40-year-old former military from the Berekhiv district, which was recruited in 2021. According to the investigation, the process was ruled by an employee of military intelligence of Hungary, who was already identified.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto reacted to reports of the detention of Hungarian spies in Ukraine and accused Ukraine of using “anti -hungar propaganda”.
