The principle of “strategic uncertainty” creates doubts about the goals and makes the enemy just guessing what is the opposite.
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that for Ukraine’s security it is important not to publicly disclose details about the volumes and types of weapons that the partners send. He said this in a joint bridalness to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Paris, Ukrinform reported on Wednesday, May 7.
According to him, such a “strategic uncertainty” is an additional protection for the Ukrainians themselves.
“I want us to close coordination with all the allies to satisfy their needs of Ukraine, but they talk about it as little as possible. Because this ambiguity is protection for the Ukrainians themselves,” the President of France emphasized.
Macron also supported the German Chancellor of the German Chancellor on the discussion of the potential supply of Taurus missiles. According to him, such decisions should be made conscious, sovereignty and without public disclosure.
“This is the Chancellor who should make decisions for his country – intentionally and sovereignty. However, I support his desire to restore strategic uncertainty in this context, as it makes no sense at every time at press conferences to voice the categories of weapons, delivery date and model,” Macron explained, noticing that the Russian army is fully capable of hearing the answers.
France has not disclosed the details of military assistance in Ukraine since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation. As the diplomatic resources explain, strategic uncertainty is a diplomatic procedure that forces the enemy to predict opponent possibilities and the planning is complicated.
Remember that German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz went to the first foreign tour after receiving the mandate. In Paris, he agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron with the Champs Elysees.
