The issue of peaceful regulating and end of the war in Ukraine will be part of the first official consultation between the leaders.
German’s newly elected Chancellor Friedrich Mertz will make his first foreign visit on Wednesday – he will go to France, where he will meet with President Emmanuel Macron. This was reported in a briefing at Elysee Palace, Ukrinform reports on Tuesday, May 6.
Among the main topics is the peaceful regulation of the war in Ukraine. According to the French president in European Aleksis Duterta, this issue has been raised in previous conversations between the leaders, and now the discussion will continue in the official format.
“They have already talked about it during two previous meetings. So negotiations about Ukraine will continue. Stopping conditions, the conditions of the long world we are trying to, and work on security guarantees that will allow you to accompany a peace agreement after the end of the fire, which will be fair and long -term, our goal will remain,” the advisor added.
France and Germany also plans to continue the joint job of funding European defense initiatives, including the involvement of both the state and private investment in the security sector.
Remember, Bundestag in the second attempt supported Germany’s Friedrich Merets Chancellor appointment.
During the second vote, the CDU leader received 325 votes with the required 316. 289 representatives who voted against. Again – one.
The appointment of the merets only took place in a second vote – this morning the first attempt failed, which was the first similar case in German history.
