CIA chief says Putin is ‘too healthy’

William Burns did not confirm the information about the serious illness of the Russian leader, which repeatedly appeared in the media.

CIA director William Burns has denied rumors that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ill. He said this on July 20, speaking at the Aspen Security Forum, Euronews reports.

“There are a lot of rumors about President Putin’s health, but as far as we can tell, he is very healthy,” Burns said.

At the same time, the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency emphasized that his words were not “an official intelligence conclusion.”

Recall that in the first months of the war in Ukraine, the Russian leader rarely appeared in public, which caused a lot of talk about his health. There have been speculations that Putin has Parkinson’s disease.

In May, Newsweek reported, citing a US intelligence report, that the Russian president had undergone treatment for a progressive form of cancer.
