Bulgaria discovered technical problems with the F-16 block 70 fighters, sent from the United States. The commander of the Air Force of the Bulgaria Nikolai Rusev, reported by the Bulgaria Ministry of Defense.
According to him, after landing the first F-16 in Bulgaria, a “deviation of the operation of one of the systems” was found, but that does not mean that the plane is at fault.
“While the aircraft is undergoing a technical inspection, this deviation will be removed so that at a different stage the plane may pass flight tests,” explained the Air Force commander.
He added that joint work is currently being conducted on the Lockheed Martin team and the US Air Force, which will help master the aircraft to adopt it.
The procedure for adopting other aircraft that will come to Bulgaria in the near future is highly simplified.
