The daily expenditure of the Russian Federation on war was identified

One of the smallest items in war spending is the salary of military personnel sent to fight in Ukraine.

Every day, the aggressor country spends about 400 million dollars on military operations in Ukraine. On Wednesday, July 20, Forbes wrote.

The article states that military personnel cost the Kremlin the cheapest.

It was noted that contractors in Russia were offered a salary of 200,000 to 300,000 rubles per month and additional pay ($53 per diem and military pay).

“On average, a soldier participating in the war spends about $200 per day. The estimated number of the Russian military is 100,000 people. That means the daily cost of paying the troops is about about $20 million per day. This is less than the amount of compensation that should be paid to the dead and injured,” calculated the authors of the material.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on average, 270 Russian soldiers die in Ukraine every day. For each of them, the military family should receive 7.4 million rubles, or about $110,000.

The number of wounded was about twice that – about 500 soldiers a day. In this case, the amount of compensation is 3 million rubles.

“Thus, the budget of the Russian Federation should spend about $50 million a day for compensation for wounded and killed military personnel,” the article specified.

At the same time, Russia is spending more on shells and missiles.

“Russian troops use up to 50,000 shells per day, which cost about $1,000 (the average price of a Soviet caliber),” the authors specified.

In addition, Russia fires missiles – about 20 missiles a day.

“Their cost ranges from several hundred thousand dollars to $10 million or more. But more often the enemy uses Iskander missiles for $3 million each, Caliber for $6.5 million,” experts calculated.

In addition, to maintain the army, regular supplies of ammunition (cartons, grenades, bulletproof vests, clothing, etc.) and material supplies for the troops (fuel, food, spare parts) are needed.

Russia is also losing technology. On average, for the day of war – aviation for $60 million, and tanks and armored vehicles for $40 million.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has already lost more than 1,650 tanks in Ukraine. The price of one ranges from $0.5 million in the case of an old non-modern Soviet unit to $3-5 million for the more modern T-80 and T-90.

The most expensive are aviation and navy. The price of an old Su-25 attack aircraft is about $11 million. And the new Su-35 costs $100 million. The average cost of a downed aircraft is about $25 million.

The most expensive victory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the sinking of the cruiser Moskva which cost $750 million. Overall, Ukraine sank the Russian fleet at a cost of more than $1 billion throughout the war.

In addition to direct spending on the army, Russia incurs significant indirect costs: funding labor administrations, additional payments to the National Guard for work in occupied territories, funding mercenaries, including the so-called Wagner group. The Kremlin also spends on logistics and delivery of equipment to the front, restoring and removing it from storage, training and other reserve forces, and treating the wounded. Estimated costs for rear support are $50-100 million per day.

In total, Russia has spent about $55 billion on the war since the start of a full-scale invasion. In addition to military spending, the Russian Federation incurs significant economic losses, often of longer duration.

It should be remembered that from February 24 to July 20, the total loss of personnel of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine was approximately 38,750 people (+200 per day).
