The Ministry of Defense responded to the appearance of reports of sending a request to the Ministry of Health on the removal of medical workers.
In the message published today, April 30, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reads that the request for the removal of doctors is not a huge and preoccupied “the only point of completion of the medical units of the Armed Forces.”
The request of the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Health is not applied to all doctors, but only a limited number of specialists who have been trained in the specialties of military accounting and are currently critical to complete the medical forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, land forces, ”the Department communed.
It is noted that these are the following positions:
- sanitary instructors (nurses and brothers);
- paramedics;
- Military personnel of officers with the preparation of a specialty (family doctor) and some other specialties that are planned to participate in military service under a contract for one year.
The reason for this request is a systemic shortage of medical personnel in medical units, ”the Ministry of Defense emphasizes.
After the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ukinin No. 36 of January 14, 2025, which provides for 100% booking doctors, is the threat of medical support to military personnel from the absence of qualified medical personnel, they added to the department.
The Ministry of Defense assured that the decision to distinguish will be applied only to scarce specialties and only to those specialists whom the Ministry of Health will jointly identify with the regional departments of healthcare:
These employees, according to the current legislation, will be able to sign a fixed contract and occupy positions in military departments that need to be reinforced today.
The Ministry of Defense recalls that the Law on Military Service and Military Service determines one semester of military service during martial law for citizens of Ukraine who received a medical education and adopted for military service in accordance with the contract for medical activities:
According to the specified law, such an agreement is subject to exclusion to extend the contract before the deadline. That is, military personnel who are in military service under such a contract are rejected from military service from the expiration of the service life (if they do not want to continue military service) in the event of a contract.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes: this is not about the mass removal of armor, but only about the target, well capable of supporting the personnel of medical units, which every day saves the lives of our military personnel added to the Ministry of Defense.
