The Romanian army will receive Ana/MPQ-65 radar, two M903 launching, a post post and an installation of energy.
The U.S. Department of State approved the decision on the possible sale of Romania to the Patriot Air Defense System and the required equipment with a total amount of $ 280 million. This was announced by the day before the agency for cooperation in the field of defense and security of the United States.
It indicates that we are talking about the AN/MPQ-65 radar, two M903 launchers, the command post and the power plant.
The main contractors are the American Defense Company RTX Corporation and Lockheed Martin.
It is noted that this sale will improve Romania’s ability to withstand current and future threats, allowing the country to place reliable forces to prevent opponents and to maintain participation in NATO operations.
“Romania will not be difficult to accept this equipment in the service with their armed forces,” the report said.
The United States Department of State also approved the sale of 400 AIM-12-20D medium-range air-to-range air-and-air missiles and the necessary equipment with an indication of $ 1.33 billion.
Remember that in the fall of 2024, Romania passed Ukraine the Patriot System. President Vladimir Zelensky then thanked all countries that contributed to the provision of air defense systems, especially the help of Romania.
And in early April of this year, it was learned that Romania would receive a new patriot change from the United States.
