SBU reports the exposure of the organizers of the supply scheme on the front of the defective shells.
In Dnipropetrovsk, the general director of the protective plant and his first deputy, were detained, which were put in the armed forces of ammunition, which were unsuitable for combat use, reports today, April 29, at the SBU press center.
In addition to state heads, SBU employees delayed the exclusion of one of the military representations of the Ministry of Defense and the head of the control group of the relevant unit, the special service said.
According to the investigation:
- At the beginning of 2024, the factory management entered into an agreement with the defense purchase agency for ammunition for the ground forces of the Armed Forces. According to the signed documents, the enterprise was supposed to put the troops of the 120s of racing shots;
- Nevertheless, for the sequential production of the shells, the involved persons used low -quality materials and performed work with a defect, which led to work with the capsule of the main metal charge and the lack of stable operation of the entire charge of the powder;
- In addition, ammunition included additional metal payments that do not meet the standards of combat operations.
Thus, the organizers of the equipment tried to reduce the cost of production in order to make a large profit from state orders, ”said SBU. – The management of the plants participated in the officials of the military representative office, which should control the quality of defense products in the implementation of the scheme.
According to the case, military officials deliberately “closed their eyes” on the defective side of ammunition and entered false information into the reporting documentation. As a result, 120,000 were not suitable for the use of shots, which was confirmed by the conclusions of a professional examination.
Currently, security investigators have reported all four detained suspicions in the framework of the second part of art. 28, part 2 of art. 114–1 of the Criminal Code (obstruction of the legal activities of the armed forces and other military units committed by the previous conspiracy by a group of persons, which led to serious consequences). They are threatened up to 15 years in prison.
