A nine -year -old girl, who swallowed four magnets, was saved in the surgical department of the regional medical association of Volina of motherhood and childhood.

It is noted that the child in a medical institution was sent by an ambulance team with a diagnosis of acute appendicitis, but the clinical picture was not typical of appendicitis:
- After additional studies, including radiography, it became clear that foreign bodies in the child’s intestines;
- During the operation, doctors found magnets, two of which were glued together in different intestinal departments. In the joints of the joints of the formed layers and subsequently, perforation, which leads to the leakage of the intestinal contents into the abdominal cavity.
It was not easy to remove magnets. They had to “get” in the application and remove with them. The girl was discharged home on the 10th day after the operation, ”said the surgeon Vasily Demhuk.
The doctor emphasizes that the greatest danger is to swallow several magnets, because they compress each other, which leads to serious complications.
The institution says that a common phenomenon is swallowing coins from children – such cases occur regularly, sometimes up to ten per week. In addition, in April, doctors also had to get a nail and a stationery button from adolescents of the bronchi, and from the esophagus, a two -year -old child, a cross.
