The decision of removing Hungary from the International Criminal Court has not been entered. Therefore, the Budapest should cooperate with the court.
Hungary Parliament voted for the country’s release from the International Criminal Court (MUS). This was announced by Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Siyarteto on Social Network X on Tuesday, April 29th.
“The Hungarian parliament only voted for the removal of Musa. At this decision, we refused to be part of a political institution that had lost the motion and authority,” he wrote.
At the same time, the decision to withdraw Hungary from the International Criminal Court has not yet entered. According to Article 127 of the Roman Statute, the State exit from Musa became official only one year after submitting the appropriate notice to the UN Secretary General. Therefore, Hungary should work with the court.
As you know, on April 3, Hungary announced the exit from Mus. The application was made on the day when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Budapest despite his arrest.
