Estonia released a tanker from the “Shadow Fleet” of the Russian Federation

Estonian authorities allowed a tanker from the Russian Shadow Fleet Kalan, which was confined to Naval forces on April 11, leaving the country’s territory. This was announced by the Director of the Department of Sea Department of Transportation of Estonian, Christian Truu, informing ERR on Sunday, April 27.

“Technically, the ship is in the process and can leave the country,” Truu explained.

Earlier, Estonian inspectors discovered more than 40 ship violations. Most of those who remember the shortcomings of the documentation, others -the introduction of a system for ensuring navigation safety, preparation of crew for emergency situations, as well as technical disabilities.

The Kalawan Tanker, used for the transportation of raw oil, was detained by the Naval forces of Estonia in the Gulf of Finland. The reason for restraint is the need to verify medium documents and determine its legal status. The tanker is heading to the Russian port of UST-Luga with Estonia’s territorial waters.

Estonian officials associated with Russia’s So -called “Shadow Fleet” -a network of ships used to miss international penalties and oil transportation.

Earlier it was reported that Estonia was detained on Friday morning by Kalan Oil Tanker – a ship from Russia’s “Shadow Fleet”, which was engaged in exporting raw oil and oil products to third countries. It was later found that 40 violations were found on the ship.
