More than 500 people were injured in the Iranian port of Shahid-Radia.
The port belongs to the Iranian city of Bender Abbas. The earth was trembling, the detonation was heard even in neighboring cities.
According to the Iranian media, there are at least 516 people. Information about possible victims did not receive dignity at 17.00 in Kyiv.
Merdad Hassanzad, a representative of the local disaster struggle, said in Iranian state television that containers in the port were the cause of the explosion.
The exact location of the explosion has not been established at present. Local news agencies report the construction of the administration, others on the fuel tank, which was still taken into the air.
Witnesses also say that the explosion occurred after a small fire on a pier scattered in open containers, in which “flammable materials” were stored and, most likely, chemicals.
Rescuers are currently trying to get to the injured zone to put out the fire and evacuate more people.
The disaster took place in the third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States about the nuclear program of this Persian Gulf, which is growing rapidly.
Port Shahid-Radia is the largest container port of the country, the area of which is about 2400 hectares. More than 70 million tons of cargo are processed here every year.
