The negotiations were postponed after State Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he could not be present in London.
Great Britain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that peace negotiations at the level of war ministers in Ukraine along with colleagues from USA and Europe, which should be held today, has been postponed after state secretary Marco Rubio that he cannot be present. The Guardian reported this on Wednesday, April 23.
A brief statement by the British Foreign Ministry states that “Ministers’ level meetings that should begin this morning will not take place and be replaced by CLOARRIX discussions conducted by officials.” It clarified the statement that was made late on the night of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain David Lammy.
In his message on social networks, shortly before midnight, Lammy said his discussions with Rubio were productive, but indicated that they had passed a slightly lower level.
“Negotiations are going on at the same speed, and officials will meet in London tomorrow (on Wednesday). This is a critical moment for Ukraine, Great Britain and Euro -atlantic Security,” he wrote.
Great Britain notices negotiations with which the France and German delegation should also be involved, but a reduction in the discussion level took place after information that leaks showed that “Russia is ready to renounce territorial claims in three Ukrainian regions that have just conquered it slightly, in exchange for the US announcement.”
In this regard, Rubio noted that “he will shift his journey to Great Britain in the coming months.”
Earlier, the media learned about the USA’s “final proposal” for Kyiv and Moscow. We talked about a single -page document submitted by Americans to Ukrainian officials in Paris last week.
And it is now learned that State Secretary Marco Rubio will not participate in London negotiations at the end of the war in Ukraine, as Kyiv rejected the US plan in Crimea.
Later, information appeared in London, they postponed the meeting of the leaders of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Britain, USA, France and Germany. Negotiations will take place at a lower level. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in the capital of Britain.
