The EU is not alleviating sanctions against the Russian Federation, and the United States will make a serious mistake if Crimea recognizes the Russian part.
Any recognition in the United States of Crimea conquered as part of Russia’s territory would be a serious mistake. It was announced on Tuesday, April 22, the head of the EU Foreign Ministry of EU Kallas during an interview with the AFP agency, who quoted inarrons.
He emphasized that such a step in the part of Washington would only encourage aggression and contrary to international law. According to Kallas, if Russia received what he wanted, it would create a dangerous precedent.
“Then Russia will accept what it wants,” he said.
Callas re -emphasized that Crimea is Ukraine. “He noted that for those at work, it is important to know that the international community does not recognize the legitimacy of the seizure of their territory.
Despite the fact that the European Union has not yet been involved in peaceful initiatives under the auspices of the United States, Washington admitted that at a certain stage the EU must participate in the process of negotiation, as he introduced major sanctions against Russia.
At the same time, Callas is convinced that Brussels should not weaken any restrictions until the Russian Federation provides clear evidence of adherence to the conditions of a potential peace agreement.
“We should see reliable certificates from Russia that he is conducting agreements before taking any steps,” he said and added: “I think we should finish this thing.”
Remember, according to media reports, the United States is willing to recognize Russia’s control over Ukrainian Crimea as part of a “broad” peace agreement to complete the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President’s office said the issue of Ukraine’s territorial integrity was not discussed with partners in negotiations at the end of the war, as it contradicted the constitution.
