If Orban blocks the expansion of penalties in the EU, it will transfer the financial burden of multi -billion dollars to Ukraine to G7 and EU countries, as these loans are provided accurately by income from frozen Russian owners.
The cancellation of renewal of sanctions against Russia, as Hungary achieved, will lead to the removal of restrictions from the property of the Russian Federation at $ 210 billion freezing the EU. This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tsakhkna in the financial season comment.
The revenues from these possessions provide, in particular, to the Ukraine loan for the $ 50 billion issued by Kyiv of the European Union and the G7 countries.
So, if Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban implemented the threat of blocking the EU penalties, it would change the financial burden of multi-billion dollar loans to Ukraine to G7 and EU countries, as these loans are provided accurately due to revenue from Russian frozen assets.
“The problem is that these possessions guarantee a loan will disappear,” Tsakhkna explained. – “If they (the Hungarians – ed.) Blok the extension, the penalties will fall. And the owners of the central bank will be returned to Russia.” The minister added.
He emphasized that the EU would not allow it.
Remember that in March, foreign ministers of the leading European countries discussed the possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia and strengthened Ukraine’s support.
Earlier, Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban said he would have expanded sanctions against Russia if Ukraine would restore Russian gas transit.
Kallas: The 17th package of penalties against Russia will be considered in May
