Finland classified information about exporting weapons. The previous skill has been changed, the state told television and radio company Yle the day before.
“From 2000 to 2020, there is not a single decision on issuing an export license that will require classification,” said Kari Paasen, World Research Center expert and conflicts.
According to a journalistic investigation, the first classified export license was issued in June 2021. Since then, 19 classified export licenses for eight countries have been issued.

The Ministry of Defense explains the new skill of the changed situation in the field of global security.
Earlier, Finland exported overseas, for example, armored staff carriers and UAV protection systems.
“Exporting weapons is a political decision. Almost all information about it comes from power. If authorities share less information, then citizens are less likely to evaluate the actions of state leaders,” Paasonen said.
It is noteworthy that in March it was learned that Finland would let Ukraine for an additional € 200 million. This is the 28th package of military assistance in our state. At the same time, Finland has traditionally not reported what exactly entered the package.
