There is no ban on importing Russian liquid gas in the following packages. However, the plans to abandon him until 2027 remain in strength.
The European Union refused to introduce the ban on the import of Russian liquid natural gas to future penalties. On Wednesday, April 16, Reuters reported that there was a reference to EU officials.
It is noted that the reason for this decision is the resistance from some governments and the uncertainty about alternative supplies.
Also in the European Union they do not want to lose a strong position before negotiations with trading in the United States, which, among other things, are associated with gas purchases.
“Instead, the commission wants to build a new road map to put hoping for the block on Russian energy bearers until 2027. The plan should be expressed in early May, but there are some details to this day,” the material said.
Until June, the commission is expected to offer a new, 17 -17 -pack of sanctions against Russia. However, European officials said the work here was slowly moving.
Remember that despite a significant reduction in gas supply from Russia after 2022, the EU last year increased the import of liquid gas from the Russian Federation – it covers 19% of the needs of the European Union.
Earlier it was reported that the European Union had decided until 2027 to completely abandon Russia’s gas. Starting this year, the delivery will begin from a promise of Black Sea Field in Romania, the operator of which the first contract in Germany has ended.
