Since the beginning of 2025, the Russian army probably lost about 138,000 people (killed and wounded).
About this today, April 14, reports the British Ministry of Defense with reference to intelligence data.
It is noted that, according to the Ukrainian General Staff, in March 2025, the average daily loss of Russians was about 1 thousand 300 people. This figure increased from 1250 in February 2025, but remains lower than very high daily rates by almost 1 thousand 600 at the end of 2024.
The increase in the number of losses lasted until the beginning of April 2025, and this is probably the result of an increase in Russia’s attacks along the front line. Russian troops will probably try to restore the front line after a period of smaller attacks in the first months of the year, the British Ministry of Protection says.
It is noted that, despite the relatively static line of the front, the registered losses of Russians in 2025 remain much higher than in the spring of 2024, when the daily loss of Russians was constantly lower than 1000.
The British Ministry of Defense added that a total of more than 920,000 losses suffered the moment of invasion of Ukraine.
