Mikhail Tereshchenko is no longer waiting for the winners and awarding ceremonies in Amsterdam.
The organization of the World Press Photo, which provides the most prestigious prize in the field of photojournalism, has withdrawn an invitation to granting the Russian propaganda agency agency Tass Mikhail Tereshchenko. This is stated in updating the organization’s website for April 11.
“Due to the growth of the European continent, at this stage we are no longer able to provide guest support from the State -controlled Russian organization. As a result, Mikhail Tereshchenko is no longer invited to the winner of the winners and the Awardam award ceremony,” the report said.
Tereshchenko received the honor of the World Press Photo 2025 photo contest for a photo of Georgia protests. At the same time, this Russian illegally visited the territorial occupation temporarily and supported the war against Ukraine.
In particular, Tereshchenko said that a few years ago he had filed pictures of Mariupol destroyed by the Russians for the World Press photo award. Like other propagandists, he called the destruction of “liberation in the city of Ukrainian.”
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine condemned the awarding of a photo about the Russian occupier next to a picture of the Ukrainian Child War injured in the World Press Photo Contest.
After that, the World Press Photo apologized for the integration of the work – Nanna Haitmann’s “Underground Field Hospital” and “on the other side of the Trenches” of Florian Bakhmaer.
